We Will Remember Them

Post date: Nov 05, 2014 4:38:4 AM

It's the start of a new month, so Wednesday Nov 5, some lucky member will have a little more change in his/her pocket! it will be our second 50-50 draw - let's see if the pot will be as big as the first one.

We've had some time now with the November 11th music, and with the concerts just around the corner, it should be just little finishing touches on the pieces. Don't forget to let people know, so we can play those lovely old tunes for a full house both Sunday and next Tuesday.

Just to keep us on our toes, the Christmas music has [mostly] come out now too. We'll likely start in on that in earnest next Wednesday, but it wouldn't hurt to look it over...

If you are reading this, and aren't yet a member - well, we can still use a few more players, so if you would like to come play with us, please do so! Just give Bob a call before coming out, so we can try to get you the music that first night.

What's Coming Up?

Performances:

We are playing a Remembrance Day concert in Regina this year - on November 9th at Lakeview United Church. Check the calendar for details, including the poster (special thanks to Terri!!). Please post and share the poster around town - it would be awesome to have a packed house. Note that there is a special rate for veterans, as we wish to acknowledge their contributions.

A short two days later, we will be attending the ceremony in Fort Qu'Appelle. The bus is free for member this year - if you bring a guest, it will be $10 for them.

Note: proper concert attire is black - It sets off the music better when we all look consistent - and it lets us concentrate on playing.

Socializing:

Our bowling night was a success, as was last week's dress-up [costumes] night - watch this space for more info on the next event.

Fundraising:

We will have a raffle this year - listen to announcements during rehearsal to find out what's on the list so far.

Fees are now OVERDUE. If you are having cash flow issues, check with the executive to arrange a payment plan that suits you.

Now that the weather is (slowly?) deteriorating, here's a friendly reminder to let someone know you aren't able to get to band - the best method is to call Bob or email us.
